Bread is one of the oldest prepared foods that we eat. It can be leavened, using yeast or a sourdough starter as raising agents or unleavened made without a raising agent.
Leaven bread only requires four ingredients:
- flour
- water
- yeast
- salt
Unleavened bread requires three ingredients:
- flour
- water
- salt
There are many methods of making bread and many different ingredients that can be added to create your own artisan, leavened, unleavened, flat and soda loaves. From a herb rich pizza crust to a black olive, white chocolate and Asiago cheese artisan loaf to coconut and sultana roti. My personal favorite way for making bread is the “no knead” method.
