Your Diet

Your diet is as up close and personal as your ability to breathe and your relationship with your chosen God.  It’s important to understand that food is something that none of us can live without and yet, it is something that is taken for granted…until, there is none.

There are many, many different dietary lifestyles that encompass the world.  People eat food that is unique to their geographical location, their culture, their religious and conscientious beliefs.  There are foods that indigenous people from both the east, north, south and west would be horrified at eating.  Yet, still the commonality is in order to survive we all must eat, irrespective of what that looks like geographically, religiously, conscientiously and culturally.

Your diet is about your personal relationship with food.  Many people do not realize that as their lives spiral out of control, they turn to food as a source of control.  Not just comfort, but to be in control.  They choose what they eat and or not eat to feel more in control.   You may be familiar with the two extremes of using food to take back control of one’s life, anorexia and morbid obesity.  Many of us fall somewhere in between those two extremes.

There is so much more to food than its taste and how it can be prepared.  Food goes so far beyond that and its nutritional value.   Food enables us to ingest life giving energy or prana or chi in a way that is easy for us to do.  Food isn’t about the vitamins and minerals that it is said to supply.   Eating food is about your body converting it into usable life giving, vibrant energy that your cells need to reproduce healthily.   The food we choose to eat is about life sustaining life.
